We’re back and what better way to celebrate the new year than introducing a powerhouse mama whose love for design and decorating has seen her move house 7 times! Now settled into their seventh home, Anissa Zajac keeps busy by consulting and styling other homes while raising their three daughters.
They are my everything! I am married to a wonderful and patient man who has more love in his heart than anyone I know. He came into my life at the perfect time and I’m so lucky to have him. We have 3 daughters that make our little world go around. Together we make a loud and crazy bunch that is pretty much perfect!
I love pillows. They seriously might be the only thing I hang on to over time. I have a closet full of them and probably need to get rid of them but I just can’t! I also love natural elements in my design so we always have some living plants or flowers in our home at all times.
So many things have changed. But instead of focusing on the negative aspects like less sleep, time and money what I concentrate on is how my thinking has changed. Having babies has made me look at this world and our lives in a completely different way than before. I think without a doubt, I am a much better human since becoming a mother. My empathy for others has grown so much since my first was born and I’m so thankful for the little lessons in kindness they teach me everyday. Having children makes you feel love that you would never know otherwise and its pretty amazing!
HOW WOULD YOUR CHILDREN DESCRIBE YOU?
So for this question I asked them to write a list of words that they thought described me. This is what they wrote and I am happy to say that funny was #1!
1.funny 2.kind 3.happy 4.hard worker 5.loves to be with us 6.helper
The list was a lot longer and honestly its something that I will cherish and probably pull out and read when the guilt starts to creep in. They’re pretty amazing tiny people.
WHAT IS THE BEST AND THE WORST PART OF MOTHERHOOD?
The love. It’s overwhelming how much I love my girls. I have never met 3 people that I would rather spend my time with and I’m so blessed to be their mama. The worst part about motherhood…oh the guilt. Mommy guilt is probably what I struggle with the most. Like most parents I want them to feel loved, confident and secure and I struggle with how I am doing as a parent everyday. It can really beat me up if I let it.
We love to eat so I would say dinners together is at the top of the list but we also love the outdoors so exploring new places is always fun! We are also a family that loves to all cuddle up together in our giant bed and watch movies. Being close together is really important in our family. I know the years ahead will be short so I’m keeping them as near to me as I can while they’re little.
