My First LEGO DUPLO Creative Chest | Review

There is something magical about opening a new box of Duplo! The bright colours and fun characters just put a smile on my face (and the Duplo isn’t even for me!) We reviewed the My first Lego Duplo Creative Chest and oh boy – we had fun!

My boys are two and almost four years old so the Duplo My First Creative Chest set is the perfect age appropriate game for them as it’s for kids from the age of 18 months to five years old. As a mom of two, I am a huge fan of Duplo as it really pushes the kids towards creativity. They would spend hours building and creating magical towers, kingdoms and characters.

This specific set, young builders can get creative throughout the year—build a springtime chick, a big ice cream for summer, a colourful tree in the fall or a winter snowman! The kids loved the bricks decorated as a gift, spider, snowman face, chick face and a double-sided brick with an awake/sleeping bee face. It really contributed to the story elements around their creations. The set also includes cute accessory elements like a candle, grapes, flowers, ice cream cone and a cake base. Endless fun! (The candle is small so be careful if you have a small baby in the house).

I mean let’s be honest – it is great to have toys that your kids, no matter their age, can share. My little one went crazy with mixing and matching and free building while my older kiddo enjoyed using the building cards to recreate the suggested models. The set contains 70 pieces. At the price of R290 it is really worth it as both my kids can play with it! It teaches them to share toys but with so many pieces to go around, they are super happy to share this one!
