OZCF Kids Market

If you are not familiar with the Oranjezicht City Farm Market Day you should definitely swing by and have a look.  OZCF Market Day is a community farmers’-style market for independent local farmers and artisanal food producers. Customers can do weekly food shopping (veg, fruit, bread, organic dairy, free-range eggs, honey, muesli etc), try out some delicious cooked and raw foods and be inspired about helping to build an alternative food system.

They have recently added the OZCF Kids Market Day.  According to OZCF volunteer, Janine Gad, the aim of the Kids’ Market Day is to teach entrepreneurial skills and for them to make some pocket money.

“Ingenuity and enthusiasm of the kids is an inspiration to us all.” –

Janine Gad

The Kids’ Market Day is run by kids for kids, alongside the OZCF Market Day. Kids are encouraged to have fun making their own produce to sell. Everything must be homemade and handmade and sold for R20 or less.
